Cloudscaling is a leading provider of open cloud infrastructure solutions for cloud-ready applications. The Cloudscaling Open Cloud System (OCS) is the first infrastructure-as-a-service solution designed to deliver the cost, performance and scalability benefits of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for public and private clouds. Cloudscaling is based on OpenStack and was founded in 2006. The company is headquartered in San Francisco. We met Cloudscaling first at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year and Randy Bias, CTO of Cloudscaling was quoted back in July last year.
We had the chance to meet with Michael Grant, CEO of Cloudscaling last week in their office in San Francisco for an exclusive interview. The interview was led by Martin Tantow, founder and editor-in-chief of CloudTimes. In this interview, Michael talks about the background of the company, explains the Open Cloud OS operating system, and their reason for choosing OpenStack over CloudStack.
